With the addition of Pioneer's AS-BT100 Bluetooth adapter, you can transfer music directly from your Bluetooth-enabled device (Android and BlackBerry smart phones, laptops, etc.) to your home theater system. However, unlike the VSX-520, the VSX-820 comes equipped with "Works with iPhone" certification, which means that you can play your music, as well as downloaded and streamed audio/video content on it from your iPhone, iPod, or iPod Touch. Pioneer has made much of the fact that both the VSX-820 and the VSX-520 are 3D Ready, which means they support the latest HDMI specifications, and meet the audio/video needs of the 3D format, which is increasingly popular.
