The Polk Audio db1001 are a pair of 1” liquid cooled dome tweeters designed to “make music shine and shimmer at high frequency.” The first model in the Polk Audio db series, the db1001 does not offer the woofers inherent in upgraded db models. It does, however, include in-line crossovers, power handling up to 180w, and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Furthermore, the Audio db1001 was designed with polymer/silk composites and neodymium magnets that can endure UV and moisture exposure, thereby allowing consumers to install the tweeters in boats, as well as cars. The Polk db1001 also includes built-in shield circuitry to help prevent electrical overload. Mounted in stainless steel, the Polk Audio db1001 is cited as offering clear car audio vocals and high-quality, brightened percussions.
