The Polk Audio db651S are a pair of 6.5” coaxial car-audio loudspeakers made from a polymer/mica composite and durable rubber surrounds designed to stand up to heat and moisture. An upgrade from the db651, the db651S includes Polk’s slim mount design with short tweeter posts that allow for simpler fitting behind factory grilles. The db651, however, has a lower peak power handling (165w versus 180w), higher frequency response (55Hz-22kHz versus 35Hz-22kHz), and the same MSRP price of $99.95. The Audio db651S also features a .75” silk/polymer dome tweeter with power Neodymium magnets, a 2” mounting depth, and built-in crossovers that are cited as helping keep the high and low frequencies flowing properly. In addition, the Polk Audio db651S includes a rustproof basket and stainless steel mounting hardware that allows for installation in boats, as well as cars and motorcycles.
