Polk Audio RM8000T/RM50T

Polk's RM line of speakers are designed to be used together as part of a home theater surround setup. The speakers feature a titanium or pewter metallic finish. Th RM8000T/RM50T are the upgrade to the RM7400T/RM40T. Each speaker has 4 x 4 1/2" mid/woofer drivers, and a single 1" silk/polymer tweeter (the RM7400/RM40T have only 2 mid drivers). The speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent interference, allowing you to place these speakers close to you TV. The curved back to the speaker's case is designed to increase the amount of dispersion from the resulting sound creating a more even volume landscape across a room.

Wow. What a great deal on Woot today for these speakers. For $400, you get yourself a pretty sweet pair of speakers. The bass is better on these than the RM7400T/RM40T going down to 42 Hz compared to 55 Hz. They also add bi-amplification and bi-wiring options with the dual binding posts.
