The iLive IS108B is an entry-level, portable iPod docking station that fits, syncs, and plays iPods. It can either be used with AC/DC power while at an idle location, or four AA batteries while on the move. In fact, the unit even folds together for easy carrying. Note also that the IS108B includes a 3.5mm mini-phono input for accepting MP3 player content, as well as a 3.5mm mini-phono output for transmitting to a pair of stereo headphones. Introduced in mid September 2008 to be available later sometime in October, the ZS-S4iP is a portable iPod speaker system and enclosure for dock-based iPods (including iPhones) made by Sony. Featuring an old looking boom box style with included tape deck-like iPod enclosure and eject button, the $140 ZS-S4iP features underpowered 2 watt speakers. Unlike most majority of portable iPod speaker systems however, the ZS-S4iP also includes an MP3 capable CD player alongside the now common FM radio. Some questions about the system remain, like if it will feature batteries for mobile use. Will be available in black and white.

Announced in late August 2008, the Logitech Z-500 is a pair of wireless speakers for users of notebooks. Arriving sometime in September the pair are void of any wires, power or signal. Signal is transmitted to the speakers through an included USB dongle, and power is provided by built in rechargable batteries that can last up to 12 hours without the need to be charged.
