The Woods SmartStrip is a power bar intended to cut standby power by turning off devices when not in use. It has a 2250 Joule surge protector capability.

It has a control outlet which is intended to be hooked to the main TV or computer. The 3 controlled outlets will only receive power when the control outlet is using more than a certain threshold, as well as for about 15 seconds after the main device turns off. There are also 3 always on outlets. This is able to save electricity and cut the monthly bill, especially for devices that use a high amount of standby power.

An example of a typical setup would be to hook a television into the control outlet, and into each of the 3 controlled outlets would be an amplified antenna, DVD player, and game system. Each of the peripherals do not need power if the television is off.

The PowerSquid Surge3000 by Flexity expands on the popular PowerSquid outlet multiplier into the realm of surge protection. The unique design of the female power outlets allows solves the problem of wasted outlets in traditional power bars because of bulky plugs. The product is given its name because the five dangling power outlets resemble the tentacles of a squid.

On top of the unique, improved industrial design of this product, Flexity boasts of its superior technology. This surge protector circuits make use of Ultra-MOV technology which, they claim, improves the surge protection and heat dissipation by 27% over traditional Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs).
