This is not a charger this is a semi-professional (or professional) reconditioning charger. If you are an average home user, with a few batteries to charge I would not suggest this charger as it is not a drop and go kind of charger. This charger is intended for people who have a large amount of batteries and good knowledge of how to recharge them properly. With the safeties it would be hard to cause real damage, but you can certainly lower the cycle rate (how many times you can recharge the batteries). One thing left out of MAHA's advertisement is the ability of this charger to sense and properly charge the new low loss batteries. New batteries such as: Imedion, Eneloop, EnergyOn, Accupower, Acculoop, and Hybrio are all properly charged by this charger. Not many chargers will work properly with these new low loss batteries. FYI: Low discharge batteries only loose 15% of their power when stored for a year, older battery types loose 75% or more in the same time. Beware that some cheaper Low Discharge batteries can only be recharged about 500 times. Overall this conditioning charger is the Rolls Royce of chargers.
