PowerSquid Surge3000

The PowerSquid Surge3000 by Flexity expands on the popular PowerSquid outlet multiplier into the realm of surge protection. The unique design of the female power outlets allows solves the problem of wasted outlets in traditional power bars because of bulky plugs. The product is given its name because the five dangling power outlets resemble the tentacles of a squid.

Details

On top of the unique, improved industrial design of this product, Flexity boasts of its superior technology. This surge protector circuits make use of Ultra-MOV technology which, they claim, improves the surge protection and heat dissipation by 27% over traditional Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs). Their Ultra-MOV can protected against 3240 Joules of electrical power. The Surge3000 also features EMI/RFI filters (which they have branded Purestream) to reduce the harm cause by electro-magnetic interference. Rounding out its surge suppression technology include a "TripWire" feature that physically severs the circuit in the event of a catastrophic power event like a lightning strike, and a bank of communications outlets to protect your DSL, cable, or dial-up internet connection.

The Surge3000 is available in a black model and a white Calamari SQ3K edition retailing for $75 and $85 dollars. The Calamari edition has all of the same features as the standard model plus two Neon glowing female outlets, a 360° Swiveling flat profile plug, a more powerful Purestream Filter (58 dB compared to 40 dB), and an audible alarm indicating power faults.

This is a great product from what I've seen and the reviews I've read. What a great concept. Normal power bars now seem stupid in comparison to this. I put in a phone plug, a battery charger and 4 outlets are taken up. WASTE! Bravo, Flexity, bravo!

yeah, I've been dabbling with the idea of getting one of these for years. They would be perfect for me... but I've got tons of power bars as it is so I find it hard to justify replacing them unless I'm actually out of sockets.
