The Philips 42PFL7432D is a 42" flat panel HDTV that features Philips' unique Ambilight technology. The set is a FullHD 1080p resolution LCD (liquid crystal display). Ambilight works by emitting soft colored lighting that matches what is displayed on the screen to ease the strain on your eyes. On this particular set, a 2-channel Ambilight system is used, which produces light on the left and right sides of the television.

Other notable features of the 42PFL7432D is the incorporation of Philips Perfect Pixel HD technology. Philps claims their PPHD system enhances the overall picture of the display by analyzing each pixel and matching it with the surrounding pixels to reduce noise and produce a more vibrant color and image.

A USB connection is also included that lets you display pictures stored on a USB mass storage device or digital camera.

To celebrate Philips' 10 year anniversary of their entrance into the LCD market they're releasing a triplet of televisions featuring their most advanced technology. This 42" set is a FullHD 1080p resolution, with the added benefit of a 120Hz refresh rate which is useful for fast paced video such as sports and action movies. An LED backlighting solution is another new feature for this set which should make for less power consumption, while increasing color brightness and contrast range.

Part of Philip's Ambilight product line, the set features the new Ambilight Full Surround. Ambilight emits a soft light around the edges of the screen in a color that matches the picture that is being displayed. This reduces the amount of eye strain while viewing the television, and reportedly makes for a better watching experience. Full Surround Ambilight emits colored light around all four sides of the television.

Other features include Perfect Pixel HD tech for better image quality and sharpness, and a USB connection for storage devices or digital cameras to display slide shows or pictures.
