It has dual SD/SDHC card slots instead of a built in hard drive. It supports Face Detection Technology, which automatically detects faces in the video and adjusts exposure and focus to get the best out of the picture. The JVC Everio GZ-HD200 comes in three different colors: Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue and Garnet Red. All members of the HD line feature a new AVCHD UXP mode that has a bit rate of up to 24Mbps, resulting in images with a sharper quality and reduced noise. It is ideal for storing to an external drive. The HD Gigabrid Premium video engine has a 30 percent reduction in power from previous Everio models and allows the consumer to create DVD dics for standard definition 2.5-times faster.

JVC HD Everio GZ-HD3

The GZ-HD3 is a high definition hard disk based camcorder that is a smaller and lower-end version of JVC's GZ-HD7. Similar to its big brother the HD3 features three CCD sensors, one for blue, green and red, that gives greater picture quality than if only one CCD were used. A 60GB hard drive is included standard which allows up to 5 hours of recording depending on the format used. JVC has also included a memory card slot which supports both SD and High Capacity SD carts for increased storage capabilities.

JVC claims that the HD3 is capable of FullHD 1080p video capture, however this is untrue. The HD3 captures in only one resolution of 1440x1080 which is slightly less than 1920x1080 which is the real 1080p resolution. There are three shooting modes available: XP mode (5 hours of recording time), SP mode (7 hours), and CBR mode (5 hours). The first two modes are JVC specific and require the included software to perform video editing. CBR mode captures the video in a format that is compatible with software that can edit any HDV files.

Being a less expensive version of the HD7 there are various features that have been downgraded. The HD3's lens comes from Konica-Minolta instead of the "professional grade" lens used in the HD7. 10x optical zoom is still a feature. Furthermore various functions such as the focus ring, and optical image stabilization have been removed. Image stabilizing is accomplished solely through digital means.

Ports

HDMI

JVC Everio GZ-HD6

The JVC Everio GZ-HD6 is the successor to the JVC GZ-HD7, a harddrive disk camcorder that records full HD. The GZ-HD6 is also capable of recording full HD on a harddrive disk, but comes in a more portable package. The camera has improved on video quality with a Fujinon 3CCD sensor and 10x optical zoom.

JVC decided to stick with their MPEG-2 recording format, which is different from the more standard AVCHD format that Panasonic, Sony and Canon support. When editing footage you'll need to convert your files to the more standard format using the included software.

Features

120 GB internal harddrive

microSD card slot for additional storage

JVC Everio GZ-MG130

The below section of the report appears to be written as a first-person review.
Please rewrite in original words from a neutral point of view, and if you're the writer, please move this to the comments section.

Firstly, this product is definitely not perfect, but it is well on the way to getting there.

I bought the GZ-MG130 online, from Pixmania, for a very good price, and I was pleased with the purchasing process - everything transferred smoothly, and it arrived on time (if not slightly late). I opened the camcorder, and everything was intact an complete, however, it was missing the instruction manual in English - apparently Pixmania provide English manuals in .pdf format, but only supply the manuals for every single other European country! I had downloaded the manual online, so it wasn't too much of a problem, but it meant printing out 60+ pages. This was a definite downside, and put a bad light on the camcorder, but I think this only applies with Pixmania.

The manual was very vague - it didn't give any definite instructions, but suggestions - it didn't cover what to do when you got the camcorder in order, but sort of dipped in and out. Being fairly tech-competent, I managed to work it out, but I must say with quite a bit of difficulty.

When the camcorder had charged up, I got started straight away. It is easy to use, and the buttons and dials easy to use. Switching it on, however, was tricky - you have to hold in a blue button while turning a dial - easy when you can see what you are doing, but when you are in a rush to film, or can't see what you are doing, it is a nightmare. The camcorder took about 15 seconds to boot up, but once it had, it was ready to film. The lens cover needed to be lowered, and that was located on the front of the camcorder. The colours and quality of the film looked very good, and I was looking forward to seeing what the results would look like on my laptop.

Taking photos was fine, too. Again, you have to press the blue button in while turning the dial, and then it takes you to photo mode. One annoying feature is that it automatically defaults to video mode, and when you want to take pictures, you have to keep turning the dial. Picture quality was poor (when viewed on a computer), and although I should have expected this, I was hoping to use my camcorder as a digital camera aswell. The camcorder isn't a substitute for a digital camera. The pictures look fine on the camcorder screen, but when they are loaded onto the computer, they look slightly pixelated, and very enlarged. The photo feature on the camcorder is only really suitable when you don't wan't to take a video, but there isn't another digital camera to hand. Still, it's fine for mediocre photos, but not for high quality photos.

Overall, this camcorder is a good buy for a family, but definitely not suitable for the keen photographer or film-maker.

JVC HD Everio GZ-HD7

HD on an HDD. In non-acronym terms that's high-definition on a hard drive disk is what the JVC Everio GZ-HD7. This Everio by JVC contains a 60GB hard drive for storing recorded video eliminating the need for removable tapes. At the camcorder's highest quality setting of 1920x1080i recording, the hard drive can capture up to five hours of footage.

JVC is targeting this camera towards the more serious amateur film-maker who is on a budget. The result is an affordable camera ($1500 is among the least expensive in the class) with respectable specifications such as 3 CCD color sensors and a 10x optical zoom.

Affordability isn't the only headline that JVC is going for, as portability is the second key focus for the HD7. The camera is actually small enough to fit in one hand. For usability JVC has included a focus assist button, alongside a focus on the lens itself. JVC has included an image stabilization system to compensate for the shaky-cam effect that occurs at high zooms, though some reviews claim that the results leave much to be desired. A note that JVC is claiming about the lens is that its a Fujinon branded lens which are normally used for professional grade cameras, and "for the first time" being offered in a consumer level camcorder.
