ProductWiki is a free and unbiased resource for high quality product information. The community creates and maintains concise product reports that include a mix of objective description information, and subjective opinions and reviews. Product categories are focused on regular consumer products such as electronics and housewares, but does extend to other categories such as software and notable websites. First launched in the fall of 2005, the website has undergone many upgrades and is one of the largest stand-alone wikis on the web.

  • Clean design
  • Large community at launch
  • Nicely structured product database
Cons
  • no pro/con lists - and we'll know where they got it from once they add it
  • Very busy UI sometimes..can be difficult to navigate
  • Many concepts are unoriginal (tagging, discussions, friending) and are in a saturated consumer space

  • puts the pinch on local book sellers
  • Shipping estimate is only listed after inputting customer/credit card information
  • Made people put in their converter box coupon number before allowing them to browse what was available, rendering the coupon useless elsewhere
