I purchased a push pin lamp from hot gadgets that has a faulty switch(doesn't work). Hot Gadgets will take it back,But you pay the shipping. the shipping is $19.48 and the cost of the lamp is $20.00. A no win situation!

That's very disappointing. Did the lamp ever work or was the switch always faulty?

go to your local hardware store and find a new cord.
