The Pyle Audio PLS690 are a pair of super slim 6.0” x 9.0” 3-way coaxial car-audio loudspeakers made from a Poly-Mica coated woofer cone. The last model in the Pyle Audio Plus series, the PLS690 trumps its 6x9” competitors, the PLG69.3 from the Gear X series and the PLRL693 from the Red Label series, by supporting a much improved peak power output of 450w (versus 360/400w) and nominal power output of 225w (versus 180/200w), not to mention a slightly superior frequency response of 41Hz-22kHz (versus 45Hz-22kHz). Like its peers, the PLS690 also includes both a midrange (film cone versus Polymer/aluminum) and a tweeter (Neodymium versus Mylar). In addition, the PLS690 features a1” hi-temp voice coil, custom grills, and an ultra-slim design that supports a mounting depth of only 2.40” (versus 3.04/3.50”). The Pyle Audio PLS690 is priced at $92.50, exactly $10 greater than the PLG69.3 and up to $30 greater than the PLRL693.
