The Pyle Audio PLX693 are a pair of 6.0” x 9.0” 3-way coaxial car-audio loudspeakers built from a Polypropylene woofer cone. The last model in the Pyle Audio Wave series, the PLX693 competes with the PLG69.3 (Gear X), PLRL693 (Red Label), and the PLS690 (Plus). The PLX693 offers a reduced peak power output (300w versus 360/400/450w), but is trumped by the PLS690 in frequency response (45-22kHz versus 41Hz-22kHz). Like the PLRL693, the PLX693 features both a 2” pole mounted Aluminum midrange and a 1” Mylar dome tweeter. All four models feature a 1” hi-temp enhanced voice coil, custom grills, and a rubber boot magnet cover. The Pyle Audio PLX693 is priced at $62.50, the same price as the PLRL693, but approximately $20-$30 less expensive than the PLRL693 and PLS693.
