As you know being "Urban" is defined more as a mindset, a culture or a lifestyle if you will, rather than geography. Urban mindset consumers usually are the first to embrace the personal technology items, latest fashion, latest automobiles, music, dance, etc. If you want to know what the latest trends are, look to urban market.

Too often though, this is the segment of the population that is missed or ignored by marketers, advertisers and brands because of any number of perceptions. It is also most often assumed that  general broad marketing & branding message gets through to the urban market.

The truth is that the general marketing messaging does not effectively reach urban consumers and as such, the urban market must be reached through targeted messaging, specific to the attitudes, aspirations and emotionally relevant to urban consumers.

This is why we created R*U URBAN to enable businesses, brands, and marketers to reach out and connect with the urban/multicultural population which is estimated (by the University of Georgia Selig School of Business) to command over $2 trillion in spending power.
