"I would stay away from philips since they no longer make their own products, they are made by akai I believe, but philips isn't philips anymore. I would strongly recommend the samsung, excellent TV."

"I have left comments on a few different manufacturers TVs, which one are you looking at? My personal preference is the Samsung 650/750 models, best lcd out right now, if you can wait samsung is releasing led lcds in the next month and a half. Stay away from vizio or other off brands, you get what you pay for, also buy off of amazon, best price and service, period. For other peoples opinions visit www.avsforum.com and you'll become very knowledgable. Just browse forums lcd flat planels. good luck"

"If you like a TV that has random sparkles that pop up while watching a TV show, this is the TV for you. What a joke, Sony says that this issue is normal, the problem is it isn't normal and shouldn't be accepted either. Everyone knows how they handled the smearing issue on the xbr4s right? They didn't fix it and left everyone with a defective TV. You have to ask yourself, do you want to buy a TV with a known issue that Sony acknowledges as normal? NO WAY JOSE!!!"
