new pro/con: Abuse from fans of other browsers who can't find any superior features elsewhere (see above).
new pro/con: Speed - reloading 5 tabs on browser startup takes 4 seconds (FX 3.0.5), the same task with Internet Explorer 7 takes 14 seconds (until all tabs are fully loaded). This is on a Athlon 64 6000 with 2 Gbyte Ram under Windows XP Pro.
new pro/con: The full potential of this browser can only be unlocked by downloading & trying the (free) extensions. Choosing between hundreds of them can be a daunting task.
new pro/con: Its easier to integrate into different OS themes (e.g. using Windowblinds).
new pro/con: DOM browser can be used to learn about web pages and customize the browser itself.
new pro/con: Built in error console for debugging Javascript and CSS

"With the exception of tabs, most of the User Interface changes of version 7 are less usable thatn previous version and add confusion. E.g. Having one 1 history drop down and making the user think about whether an item is forward or backward. Putting the Home button in an unexpected place (right hand side of tab area) where it uses up space. Stop button also in an unexpected and hard to reach place. WWW3 and CSS2 standard compliance better but still needs improvement. Having "search in page" in a dialog box and no on handed shortcut is a glaring oversight - this should be integrated like in firefox (e.g. slash, F3). IE7 UI should be more customizable to make it user friendly. Built in Javascript debugging might be a nice feature for developers. A lot of the plugins are commercial and not free. The only plus is added security and the tabs (copied from all other browsers opera, mozilla etc)"

"I have a bought retail version of it - 160 euro (would not recommend buying any OEM version as it can not easily or legally ported to a new machine anymore); it is still quite good in that its fairly backwards compatible to a lot of old software while having full 32 bit support, and a lot of modern software runs quite quickly using current hardware (I am using an Athlon X2 6000, lots of application and server software [this runs in the background] as I am using the machine for devlopment and still am able to record multitracking music (10 input soundcard) on this as well. Windows Update is a great feature as well as long as its supported although I am not too fond of WGA repeatedly installing checks on my legal copy. Also its fairly customizable using third party software (Windowblinds) to the point of making look like Aero. Focus is less on visual than Vista (less wow factor more productivity) and there is no mentionable latency on sound tasks from the UI. On the other hand Vista is still struggling with sound recording application as the new UI burns so much processing power that it introduces latency issues with applications based on ASIO - musicians: stay away from Vista until this is sorted! XP or Windows 2000 are still the OS of choice for the PC musician."

new pro/con: Auto-Tag feature: good for roll your own mp3s and to correct these collectors items.
new pro/con: Multiple sound card support: listen on your hi-fi card while Windows gets the onboard chip.

"Using Winamp since version 1... tried WMP + iTunes. Pros: The AutoTag feature is invaluable to me since I rip a lot of my mp3s from my own Vinyl collection. Visualizations run rings around the ones in Media Player or iTunes. Finally I can select the sound card without sending my windows plings and boings through my studio desk & speakers (can't do that in iTunes or media player). I believe if they advance the Album Art download to have more control and high res images and some sort of Cover Flow interface then Winamp could be the iTunes killer. Cons: Only runs in windows."
