The Samsung RFG238AARS is a middle-end French door fridge. It is designed to have large amounts of available room using a twin door design. It features a counter-depth design, the Twin-Cooling Plus system, and LED lighting. The counter depth design allow the fridge to fit nicely by most countertops for a streamlined look. The Twin-Cooling Plus system separates airflow from the fridge and the freezer, allowing the contents of each to remain more fresh. The LED lighting emits less heat, and is more energy efficient than a normal lightbulb. The brightness allows any owner to find whatever they need inside. When compared to a competing product, the KitchenAid Architect II KBFS25EVMS, the RFG238AARS appears to be roughly on par. Both fridges have some very similar attributes, such as an advanced system to keep food fresh (Twin-Cooling Plus and FreshSeal), and a stainless steel exterior.

The Samsung RF197ACRS is an 18 cu. ft stainless steel French Door refrigerator from Samsung. The French Door refrigerator is almost 3" slimmer than conventional models. It features Samsung's Twin Cooling Plus cooling system which keeps cooling air in the freezer separate from the the air in the refrigerator. It does this by using two independent evaporators, two independent cooling fans and precise electronic control. The Samsung RF197ACRS includes an internal digital display and controls which display the refrigerator and freezer temperatures and other information. It also has the ability to "fast chill" or "fast freeze" food whenever needed with the press of a button. Other features include Surround Air Flow which provides even cooling throughout the refrigerator and an automatic ice maker. The Samsung RF197ACRS is very similar to the larger Samsung RF217ACRS though the RF197ACRS is smaller by 2 cu. ft and has 3 total shelves while the RF217ACRS has 5 shelves.

These features do not change between all other ED5 Series refrigerators. The basic components shared with the less expensive FPUS2686LF model are PureSource Ultra Water Filtration, Spill Safe Shelving, Pro-Select Controls, Humidity Controlled Crispers, and Large Crisper Doors. The entire unit features 26 cubic feet of space, with 16.5 of that allotted to the fridge and 9.5 allotted to the freezer. Both sections feature several large baskets, shelves and bins, with additional features such as a wine rack and ice cream shelf. The water / ice dispenser is on the freezer side and features 11 buttons, a single paddle, and warning lights for the filtration system. The dispenser releases crushed ice, cubed ice, and water. The entire unit has a W/H/D of 36" x 69-3/8" x 33" respectively and comes in clean stainless steel. The consumer doesn't get much in difference with this model, and at an extra 200 dollars the Automatic Alert Technology can be a pricey addition.

The Frigidaire FPUS2698LF comes with ramp up lighting to keep everything in the unit fully visible; this combined with the clear plastic drawers and shelving make items easy to find. The Fridge has a quiet design and is both CSA and Energy Star Certified.

This reduces the total capacity of the unit to 25.8 cu ft, and moves the water and ice dispenser to the exterior of the door. The controls have been moved to the outside of the unit along with the dispenser, and now include a temperature indicator.

The RS264ABSH is a side-by-side style refrigerator from Samsung. The fridge is designed with a standard 36" width and offers a capacity of 26 cu.ft. The Frigidaire FGTC2349KS is a medium capacity side-by-side refrigerator in a Stainless Steel finish. The 22.6 cu ft capacity is complimented by full length Stainless Steel handles on the doors. The ice dispenser has a Quick Ice function that can deliver up to 37 percent more ice, and the freezer has a Quick Freeze function if something needs to be frozen right away. The Frigidaire FGHB2846LF is a high end french door refrigerator. It is identical in many ways to the Frigidaire FGHB2844LF, but has several new features added. The display controls are now an LCD display on black, and an alert sounds the door is left open or if temperature rises. Also a new Quick Freeze function has been added to create ice quickly if needed.

Similar to the Frigidaire FGHB2844LF, this unit has a 27.8 cu ft capacity and Effortless Glide drawers in the freezer and crispers. The water and ice dispenser can produce both crushed and cubed ice, and uses the PureSource Ultra water filtration system to clean tap water. The Amana AFF2534FES is a large french-door refrigerator. It is similar to the Amana AFD2535FES but lacks a filtered water dispenser. The freezer drawer has been modified to run on a track system that makes it easier to open and close. Otherwise most of the features are the same, including an ice maker, the ability to set a specific temperature, a temperature controlled pantry drawer for items that require specific environments, and two humidity controlled crisper drawers to keep produce fresh.

The glass shelves are designed to contain spills and make cleanup easier. There are 4 half-width adjustable shelves in the main refrigerator area that slide out to help make the contents available. The 2 baskets in the freezer also slide in and out.

The Whirlpool ED2FHEXVS is a high end, multi feature, Side by Side refrigerator. This Unit is a step up from the ED2DHEXWL, containing more special features and colour options. The standard features of this model are a PuR Water Filtration System, Ice and Water Dispenser, Interior Temperature and Humidity Control, and SpillGuard Shelving. The temperature controls for this model is a Backlit Slide Interior Control. Additional features for the ED2FHEXVS are a Dispenser Control Lockout to keep young children from operated the device, a Filter Change Indicator Light to warn when it is time to replace the water filter, an Adaptive Defrost System (ADS), and more shelving than the ED2DHEXWL. Shelving and bins come in both Clear and Opaque forms, and can be adjusted to personal preference. The entire unit has a capacity of 21.7 cubic feet, with 14.4 allotted to the fridge and 7.3 allotted to the freezer, making it no larger than the less expensive model. The 27.8 cu ft capacity construction is otherwise identical, with the same PureAir Ultra filtration system to keep the air in the refrigerator fresh and alerts when the door is left open.
