Details

While many camera makers are removing their RAW storage, Ricoh is introducing it into its compact line with the GX100. The camera stores the image in Adobe's DNG format which is readable by most programs, this is in contrast to many proprietary RAW formats that are difficult to process.

ISO support ranges from 80 up to 1600, though reviews remark that the image quality at ISO1600 makes the setting useless. For the longer exposure times, up to 3 minutes, the camera's optical stabilization is used. The Camera Shake Correction option is turned on by default. Adjusting exposure and other settings is done through the on screen interface. The camera features a total of 17 different external controls. Specific settings can be saved in two slots labeled MY1, and MY2 which are quickly accessible from the photo-mode dial.

If the camera's 2.5" LCD screen and built-in flash aren't suitable, there are extra accessories to enhance the device's capabilities. The hotshoe on the top of the camera can take a stronger flash attachment, or a removable electronic viewfinder, but not both at the same time.
