As a revolt against our society's sometimes annoying obsession with coupledom, Singelringen is a celebration of being single. A ring that is purchased by yourself and worn by yourself, to declare that you are single and proud. The idea was conceived by Johan Wahlbäck, a Swedish entrepreneur who recognized that although engaged and married people had a way of announcing their status to the world, no such option was available for singles. Since Johan found himself single and enjoying his life, he too wanted a ring to display his relationship status.

The Singelringen was first introduced in Sweden in April 2005 and has since spread to over 20 countries and has become a cult favorite among celebrities. Japan and Brazil have proven to be especially enamoured with the ring. The ring itself is a simple unisex design of sterling silver as a base, which is then layered with a shiny turquoise acrylic. Each ring's interior features a "Made in Sweden" engraving as well as a unique registration number, which you can register to your name on their website where they've formed a community of fellow Singelringens.
