The Felt F15X is a high-cost road bike. Like the other bikes in this product line, the components of the F15X are geared toward cyclocross racing. The F15X's carbon fiber fork takes the edge off rough transitions, and helps to make this bike durable. The Superlite 7005 aluminum frame is double butted for a solid feel. This frame features forged horizontal dropouts with stainless steel inserts, for added durability. The handlebar of the F15X is 6061 aluminum. This bike is equipped with Tektro high profile Euro-style cantilever brakes, which are made for precision stops. The xR3 700c 24mm deep aluminum rims of this bike are equipped with a CNC machined braking surface. This design helps with brake control. This bike differs from the lower cost Breed model in that it has more heavy duty components (such as carbon seat stays), and is also more lightweight (17.62 pounds as opposed to 18.27 pounds). However, this model lacks the higher cost F75X's maximum mud-shedding frame and fork. The Felt F15X road bike comes in a lime green color.

The Felt F5 is an upper mid-cost road bike. Felt promotes this bike as being equally adept at city limit sprints or long alpine climbs. At 18.22 pounds, the F5 is a lightweight ride. The frame of this ten-speed is Felt's HM High Modulus Modular carbon fiber frame with 3KP Finish. The fork of the F5 is also High Modulus carbon, which helps this bike to be durable. This fork comes with a compression device, allowing you to fine-tune performance. The saddle and seat post are also carbon-based, adding to the solidness of this bike. The 6061 Butted Aluminum handlebar of the F5 has an ergonomic drop, which helps to make the ride comfortable. The grips of this bike are Felt's Gel Ribbon Cork Tape grips, which help you to keep a stiff grip. The brakes of the F5 are Shimano Super SLR Dual Pivot brakes with Cartridge Brake Shoes. These brakes are able to make quick stops when needed. This bike differs from the higher cost F5 Special Edition model in that the F5 Special Edition has a team issue finish, Swiss SL butted spokes (instead of plain stainless steel), and AeroR4 Sealed Bearing CNC Machined 7075 Aluminum front and rear hub with Cr-Mo Quick Release Skewer (instead of plain forged aluminum front and rear hubs). The Trek Cronus is a high-end road/commuter bicycle designed to balance performance and price point. Its carbon frame offers lightweight durability and added strength at known stress points while its front fork features a Fischer Control Column design for more reduced front-end deflection. Additionally, the Cronus features hidden fender mounts for both wheels, allowing for easy installation of fenders.

The Cronus' carbon frame composition comes with different qualities from typical metal alloy frames as carbon's more fibrous nature allows its grain to be aligned in such a manner as to provide extra support at joints and other known stress points, resulting in a strong, durable and light frame. Its Bontrager carbon front fork sports a Fischer Control Column design, for a wider front fork stance which reduces front-end deflection during cornering and climbing. The Trek Equinox TTX 9.0 is a road bike built to be affordable and fast. The frame is made of OCLV Black Carbon, rather than the more expensive OCLV Red Carbon found in the 9.8 and 9.9. Also unique to this bike is the use of Bontrager SSR wheels, an SRAM drivetrain with an SRAM S-300 crank, and a brakeset that uses alloy dual pivot with Bontrager Race Lite Aero levers. It also uses basic Bontrager parts for the seat post, handlebars and stem.

Features all Trek Equinox TTX 9 series bikes have in common are a Bontrager Race Lite TT saddle and a Cane Creek IS-2 headset integrated with cartridge bearings.

Cannondale CAAD8 S 6

The CAAD8 S 6 is one of Cannondale's lineup mid entry-level road bikes for 2010. The CAAD8 S 6 is a low-priced bike that comes with solid enough specs, which although not competitive, are nevertheless suitable for one entering the sport. The frame is a sturdy double butted 6061 alloy. Butting the frame means the quality of the welded area is consistent around its circumference, thus ensuring a durable frame. Butting the frame also makes the CAAD8 S 6 more comfortable to ride. Comfort is also improved from the CAAD7 with a larger number of headset stacking spacers to determine handlebar height, and the setback seatpost allows a good amount of saddle adjustment. The CAAD8 S 6 has a 9spd drivetrain and triple crankset, which will provide a good learning curve for a large variety of terrain. The combination of Shimano Sora and Tiagra are reliable and the Maddux rims with Formula spokes are durable. The CAAD8 S 6 is available in Nu Team Blue and Magnesium White, and Race Red and Jet Black.

The Specialized Sirrus Sport is a flat-bar road bike that provides a compromise between the low weight of Specialized's high end road bikes with more comfortable geometry. It comes with an Carbon fork, integrated headset and a Specialized Elite-Set 3D forged 4 bolt stem that is adjustable to 4 positions. The Specialized CruX Expert Carbon is a mid-range bike for road and cross racing. This is an upgrade from the Specialized CruX Comp, with the fork upgraded and the frame now built with a carbon material rather than E5 alloy. The frame's design, rims and SRAM Apex 10-speed shifters have remained the same. This is also similar to the Specialized CruX Pro Carbon which uses the same frame and rims, but upgrades the rest of the components in the build. This bike uses a FACT 7m Az1 carbon frame built to be stiff and light, and uses Zertz inserts to absorb some of the vibration. The S-Works FACT carbon monocoque fork also uses SpeedZertz to provide stiff and responsive control while still absorbing some of the vibration.

Trek Madone 6.9

The Trek Madone 6.9 is a top end racing bike built for speed. This is an upgrade to the Trek Madone 6.5 due to a number of improvements. The wheels in this case are Bontrager Aeolus 5.0, with Bontrager Race X Lite AC tires. The drivetrain has been modified from the 6.5 model to use a Shimano Ultegra 11-25 or compact 11-28. The handlebars and stem have both been replaced with Bontrager Race XXX Lite Carbon parts as well.

Many of the best features of the Trek Madone 6.5 remain the same here, however. The frame is a DuoTrap compatible OCLV Red Carbon, and the fork is a Bontrager Race XXX Lite. The saddle is a Bontrager inForm Race X Lite on a carbon seatmast cap, and the breakset is Shimano Dura-Ace with Shimano Dura-Ace STI levers.

The Giant Defy Advanced 2 has an advanced-grade composite frame and is a high-end, versatile road bike. As part of the Defy Advanced series, the Defy Advanced 2 has all the features and components which what made the series popular. The Giant Defy Advanced 0 is a road bike engineered specifically for those who want to ride fast and far, but not race. While other road bikes have been designed with speed in mind, Giant has tweaked and adjusted the TCR race geometry and produced a comfortable, yet speedy, bike. The Defy Advanced 0 has a top tube length slightly shorter, with a higher head tube. This results in a remarkable improvement in comfort, much easier on the back and neck, yet still able to bend down to a sprint. In addition, the handlebars have a shallower drop. This is to provide a much greater degree of comfort while doing sprints or when battling headwinds. The Defy Advanced 0's final feature is a flattened upper section on the handlebars to give a greater surface area for the palm contact and reduce hand fatigue. This comfort is further improved with a slightly larger tyre (2mm wider), enabling the bike to soak up some additional shock on rougher patches of road.

The Defy Advanced 0 also has in addition a compact crank-set, plus adding a few extra teeth on the rear cassette which make hill-climbing a breeze. All of these result in a bike that is every bit as stiff as a TCR race bike in the critical power & handling areas, yet doesn’t require a youthful, supple body, that will bend to the most aerodynamic riding position. The Giant Omnium is a bike that features an ALUXX SL aluminum frame that perfectly blends aerodynamics and stiffness. With a specially designed aero fork and no brake bosses or bottle cage mounts, Omnium was built and designed as a do-it-all bike rather than a pure sprinter or pursuit machine. Giant's aim was to create the stiffest and most aerodynamic frame possible with the weight falling in the UCI limits. The result is a totally new chassis crafted from Giant’s Aluxx SL aluminium tubing, with a huge down tube that tapers internally (and complies with the UCI’s 3:1 rule). Other features include an Overdrive tapered head tube and fork steerer, and a new fork that’s similar to the one found on the new Trinity time trial bike but with a thinner profile and no cable routing. The Tarmac Comp Double is a performance road bike from Specialized's Tarmac series that is designed to provide handling and high performance on the road. Giant has come up with an affordable road bike, the Defy 3, for beginners. What makes the Defy 3 different from the Defy 1 and 2 is its 52/42/30 triple ring instead of a compact crank. The Schwinn 2010 Le Tour SPORT is a budget-friendly road bike built for both men and women (equal prices). It utilizes a Schwinn N'Litened Aluminum frame with N’Litened Silver Label tubing and a Black Label Fork. They all feature Schwinn’s proprietary Bio-Tuned ergonomic geometry for keeping the user positioned correctly. The Bianchi Zurigo (2011) is a mid-range cyclocross bike with an aluminum frame. The CYCLOCROSS frame design is similar to the one used on the Bianchi Zurigo (2011), but uses a hydroformed aluminum alloy for a lower price point. The components used on the bike are all different, in this case to support increased durability. SRAM APEX parts are used in the shifters and derailleurs for consistent and reliable gear shifting. The wheel system is more complex, with front and rear hubs built as sealed bearing alloy 32H bearings that work with Inox 2mm spokes, Reparto Corse rims, and Vittoria Cross XG tires. The brakes are a Reparto Corse cantilever design, and the brake levers are integrated with the handlebars.

The Kona Kona TT is a road bike featuring a 7005 Aluminum frame that is tough, durable, affordable, light and potentially dependable. Also featured is a Kona Carbon fork, Mavic wheels, and a Shimano drivetrain. Unlike the barebones Honky models, the Kona TT is utilitarian to a degree, but not so much so that it lacks any advanced features. For instance, included is an internal headset located within the heat tube, which allows it to better absorb stress and therefore improve ride characteristics and overall performance. The Kona Major Jake is a high-end commuter/road/racing bicycle similar to Kona's Jake the Snake. The Major Jake, however, sports a number of improvements over Jake the snake, primarily stronger and lighter Scandium tubing, as well as much higher end components (Mavic Ksyrium Equipe Wheelset, Continental SpeedKing Cross Kevlar 700x35C tires). The Major Jake and Jake the Snake do, however, share compact rear triangle technology.

The Major Jake's high-end components are the same components used by the Orange Crush cyclocross team: professionally verified as high quality. Its Scandium tubing makes the Major Jake twice as strong as bikes with a 6061 or 7005 aluminum frame as well as 10-15%; it is also cheaper and more durable than similar carbon bikes. Additionally, the Major Jake's compact rear triangle features short chain and seat stays for less deflection during braking and faster acceleration.

The Giant Sedona is a 26'' mountain bike useful for exercise and family rides. The Giant Sedona has been around for years with a good consumer record. The newer 2010 model has a lighter aluminum double-butted frame with 21-speed. The Sedona is a generalist, with good-all-around stock setup. The frame durability is excellent, with reports of 15-year use with hardly any maintenance. The Sedona is good for both on-road and off-road. The geometry is not the best, and the brakes, especially the rear, may need replacing after some time. The Sedona, however, is designed for comfort, not speed. The Sedona is available as a Women's model and in several colors. For men: dark red, satin black, and metallic silver. For women: light green, ice blue.

The Giant Defy 2 Compact is a state-of-the-art road bike designed for speed and comfort. The level of quality and comfort is evident as soon as the Defy 2 Compact is ridden. The tapered steerer-tube fork for extra stiffness means the Defy 2 Compact is very precise in how it sticks to the line, in other words, it is the opposite of wobbly, and means safety on roads with ice patches where other bikes would slip. Since Giant manufactures its own frames, it has come up with an excellent alloy which allows the Defy 2 Compact to go over rough, unpaved ground without the bounce of other alloy bikes. In addition, the carbon-bladed and -crowned fork absorbs road shock unusually well with no twitching, fluttering or wobbliness. After long rides, there is no discomfort in the back and wrists area. Trek 2.3

The Trek 2.3 is the next step up from the 2.1, maintaining the same frame composition and similar geometry but with an upgraded drivetrain. Other updates include Bontrager Race wheels and Race Blade handlebars, and a switch from Shimano Tiagra to Shimano 105 breaks. The crank has been changed to a Shimano 105 from the R-600, but other Shimano components are the same including the shifters, derailleurs and cassette. The grade of metal used for the frame is part what sets each series apart and this one uses the middle grade Alpha Black Aluminum which has been hydroformed for some aerodynamics. The SpeedTrap compatible fork has a port that will accept special wireless transmitters(sold separately) that can send speed, cadence and distance data to any ANT+ capable device such as a GPS receiver. WSD version is only available with the 2.1.

2007 Trek Pilot SL 5.9

Welcome to the Trek Pilot Wiki! The Pilot series from Trek bicycles debuted in 2005 and offer a compact frame geometry. Pilot frames have long reach brakes and rear mount to accommodate fenders and tire sizes up to 27mm. The SL moniker has been used since 2005 in Madone models with OCLV 110 carbon frames. It is now carried over to the Pilot SL 5.9 (presumably for consistency). Components are primarily Dura-Ace or high-end Bontrager. A Bontrager-branded Truvativ Rouleur carbon compact crank (mated with a wider range cassette) replaces the triple crank on other models. 2007 proved to be the final year for the high-end 5.2 and 5.9 models.

The Felt ZW75 is a women’s bike featuring women’s-specific components such as custom-shaped handlebars and an ergonomic saddle. It takes a big downward jump from the standard ZW Series (Z4, Z5, Z6) by switching out their High Modulus carbon frames and forks for a custom butted 7005 aluminum frame and UHC performance carbon fiber fork. This means it’s less durable, but more lightweight—yet still stiff enough for a smooth ride. Also included is a VR carbon fiber seatstay, and Shimano 105 drivetrain components including a 20-speed drivetrain with an FSA compact crankset for the gearing needed for steep ups and downs.

The Felt ZW5 is a women’s bike featuring women’s-specific components such as custom-shaped handlebars and an ergonomic saddle. It’s designed to combine comfort with the high-edge performance needed for serious racing. In particular, it hosts the same HM carbon frame and fork as the ZW5, it’s immediate superior sibling. However, it is spec’d downwards with Tiagra and Sora bits, meaning a reduction in price and quality. Despite the drop, the Felt ZW6 still contains all the essential components needed (including an aluminum rim with machined UB control for braking, and a wear indicator laced 28H radial) needed for moving quickly and effectively across long distances.

The Felt ZW5 is a customized bike that was engineered with a 950g FIT WOMAN specific UHC advanced MMC carbon fiber that’s stiff, yet capable of quick acceleration and razor-sharp handling. As a woman’s bike, the ZW5 somewhat downgrades from the ZW4 by trading Shimano Ultegra components for Shimano 105 products. There’s also an aluminum rim with machined UB control for braking, and a wear indicator laced 28H radial. Kona Band Wagon

The Kona Band Wagon is a funkadelically-styled hipster road bike released as a “hopped up” version of the original Paddy Wagon. It’s still geared for adolescents/youngsters and it’s still colorful (powder blue and bright orange deep-dish rim), but it adds along more “cake,” as in improved components and specifications. It’s still bound by a steel frame, but the added Shimano componentry gives it the increased acceleration and power lacking in its predecessor. Included also is a compact rear triangle with short chain stays and seat stays that together offer enhanced balance between stability and power transfer when out of the saddle and hammering.

The Trek Equinox TTX 9.8 is a road bike built to maximize both aerodynamics and lightweight components. This bike is the first in the Equinox TTX series to use an OCLV Red Carbon frame, making it lighter and more durable. It also uses Bontrager Aeolus 5.0 ACC wheels for increased aerodynamics, and has a drivetrain largely made up of SRAM Force parts.

Most of the components have been switched to lighter-weight Bontrager Race quivalents for this model. It does, however, have the same components all Trek Equinox TTX 9 series bikes share, including a Bontrager Race Lite TT saddle and a Cane Creek IS-2 headset integrated with cartridge bearings.

Cannondale Synapse Carbon 4

The Cannondale Synapse Carbon 4 is even less expensive than its sister product, the Carbon 3. Despite being cheaper, the bike is still priced to cause the casual consumer to pause before buying with a price tag of two and a half thousand dollars. Like all Synapse bikes, the Carbon 4 is designed with comfort and performance, with features such as the oversized BB shell standard that reduces the weight of the bike without causing issues with the stiffness. The shaped chain stays work with a moderate bend in the seat stays to reduce the vibration and road buzz that can become a bother to riders. A lateral flex resistance is built into the dampening so that the comfort also works towards making the bike useful for climbing and sprinting. The Cannondale Synapse Carbon 4 comes in three different color options: Race Red, Vivid Blue, and Jet Black, all with a Lightning White gloss.

The Cannondale Slice 5 is an ultra-light competitive road bike from the Cannondale Slice series. All models in the series feature class-leading aerodynamic technology to achieve higher bike speeds by reducing laminar drag. The Slice 5 was designed as a step-up from the Slice 4. It maintains its predecessor’s Gossamer crankset, but adds along superior Shimano 105 derailleurs and Shimano Dura-Ace shifters. The CAAD9 6 has a top tube with a larger diameter at the head tube, and a down tube and seat tube that enlarged as they reached the bottom bracket. It is solid, well balanced and predictable. Giant Sedona DX (Navy Blue)

The Giant Sedona DX is a mountain-style bike built for comfort. The Sedona DX differs from the Sedona with its comfort geometry, Maxxis semitread tires, and 24-speed Shimano drivetrain. The Sedona DX combines the best of two sorts of bikes, the mountain bike and the comfort bike. With the bars forward and the seat up it makes for a great trail bike with ultra low gears for hills. With bars back and the seat down it makes a great cruiser for the road. The design is stylish and offers stable balance and a smooth ride. However, the Sedona DX is rather heavy, and the plastic brake levers don't weather well and will need to be replaced. Also, positioning of the crank forward for comfort sacrifices leverage which makes it a little more difficult to pedal up hills. The Sedona DX is good for commuting, leisurely rides, light trails and street riding. It is available in charcoal, red, navy blue, and there is a women's model.

The Cannondale SuperSix HI-MOD 1 is a light and efficient road bike built for both professional and casual riding. It utilizes high-modulus carbon tubes for exceptional stiffness, which renders itself through pinpoint cornering control and super snap. The result is a bike that easily climbs and sprints without a whole bunch of extra effort. Note also Cannondale’s Hollowgram compact cranks, which were designed to spin on ceramic bearings coupled with light and fast Mavic wheels. And although the frame is carbon, it doesn’t act like dead wood. Cannondale injected their carbon frame with the same qualities needed for a snappy, responsive ride. Ultimately, the HI-MOD allows for improved road manners and performance.

The Cannondale SuperSix 2 is a stiff road bike that’s had its weight reduced without sacrificing stiffness. It utilizes matching-radius overwraps on the large BB shell and chain stays. This design reduces ‘flexy’ lugs and enhances carbon contact surfaces, which in return results in superior power transfer. And although the frame is carbon, it doesn’t act like dead wood. Cannondale injected their carbon frame with the same qualities needed for a snappy, responsive ride. Ultimately, the SuperSix2 allows for improved road manners and performance.

The Giant TCR Advanced 3 is a compact and sturdy road/racing bike featuring a lightweight frame that doesn’t necessarily sparkle in the sun, but does deliver the precision needed for moving swiftly with control. It features Shimano 105 10-speed components. The 105 component group lies between an LX and XT component group, making it an entry-level racing/mountain bike. Although it lacks the extra-lightweight parts of a higher-grade component, users are at least granted smoothness and durability. Included also with the Advanced 1 is a Fi’zi:k Arione saddle and a Mavic Aksium Race wheelset. Ultimately, the Advanced 3 can be used comfortably for racing, but is not recommended for long-term and professional-level usage.

The Specialized Vita is the base model in the Specialized Vita series of women's road bikes. This means it does not have the Adjustable 4-position stem and other features like the premium Vita Elite and Vita Comp models. However, the Vita is still a bike built for fitness and commuting. It is built for endurance. The forged alloy front and rear hub help to ensure that this bike will stand up to habitual use and lengthy commutes. Just like its higher priced Vita counterparts, the base Vita has flat aluminum handlebars, which ensure that long commutes will be balanced and comfortable. This model also has pedals with toe clips and strap, a feature that is handy for bumpy rides. While this bike is reputed to do well with repeated use, it is also said to be inadequate for any environment but the urban environment. As such, it is best suited to commuting.

The Schwinn 2010 Cutter is an exceptionally affordable riding bicycle for casual riders. IT features Schwinn’s custom N-Gauged hi-ten frame and N’Gauged cro-moly welded steel fork. They aren’t necessarily the most durable, but still exude style, efficiency, and enough strength to handle anywhere from two to give years of extensive use. The Trek 7.9 FX is the top model in Trek's FX Series of cross-trainer bikes. It is designed for comfort first, but is also built to perform nearly as well as a road bike. The IsoZone vibration damping system isolates the most pivotal point in the frame and reduces frame vibration between 40-50Hz while the Bontrager Ergo grips and a fitness-specific Bontrager Nebula Plus saddle made from Flex Form elastomer give a long and comfortable with fatigue-free movement. The Trek 7.9 FX features a 10-speed Shimano drive train and uses various other parts from Bontrager, such as a Bontrager Nebula Carbon fork with Speed Trap insert and puncture resistant Bontrager Hardcase tires. The Cannondale CAAD9 5 is a road bike designed for powerful riding. The CAAD9 5 is an Elite frame from Cannondale's road line and suitable for performance-oriented riders on a budget. With the CAAD9 5 sprinting, climbing, and corning is very solid, and the Premium carbon fork dampens the harshness of the road beneath you. The CAAD 9 5 comes with the Hollowgram Si SL crankset, which with the BB30 frame makes the CAAD9 5 very light. It also features Pro-Tour geometry designed for worldwide races. The CAAD9 5 has a top tube with a larger diameter at the head tube, and a down tube and seat tube that enlarged as they reached the bottom bracket. It is solid, well balanced and predictable. The CAAD9 5 comes in Nu Team Blue with white and black accents, and Charcoal Grey with white and red accents.

The CAAD8 S 6 is one of Cannondale's lineup mid entry-level road bikes for 2010. The CAAD8 S 6 is a low-priced bike that comes with solid enough specs, which although not competitive, are nevertheless suitable for one entering the sport. The frame is a sturdy double butted 6061 alloy. Butting the frame means the quality of the welded area is consistent around its circumference, thus ensuring a durable frame. Butting the frame also makes the CAAD8 S 6 more comfortable to ride. Comfort is also improved from the CAAD7 with a larger number of headset stacking spacers to determine handlebar height, and the setback seatpost allows a good amount of saddle adjustment. The CAAD8 S 6 has a 9sd drivetrain and triple crankset, which will provide a good learning curve for a large variety of terrain. The combination of Shimano Sora and Tiagra are reliable and the Maddux rims with Formula spokes are durable. The CAAD8 S 6 is available in Nu Team Blue and Magnesium White, and Race Red and Jet Black.
