Woah! 5000 bucks is very steep. You could just buy 1 laptop, a backup system and then another laptop when the first one breaks. Unless of course you're trekking through the jungle.

You could easily run through laptops that way. It's a pretty niche market that would need such a rugged laptop, and the price point wouldn't matter as much as the robustness.
