S.Pellegrino Sparkling Mineral water is rich in dissolved minerals (magnesium and calcium) and has a pleasant & refreshing taste.  The S.Pellegrino website claims that it is "the champagne of mineral waters".  The origin of the S.Pellegrino mineral water is from a thermal spring at the foot of a Dolomite mountain wall towering above the Brembo river in the Italian Alps.  The town of San Pellegrino Terme is located near Bergamo some 70 km northeast of Milan.

More information

The history of S.Pellegrino can be traced back as early as 1250, and it is said that Leonardo da Vinci visited San Pellegrino in 1509 to try its "miraculous" water.  In 1839 a spa was formed, but it wasn't until 1899 that the first bottling of water began.  Refer to sanpellegrino.com for more.
