The Samsung BD-P2550 is a Blu-ray player released in late August 2008 with an MSRP of $499.99 as a follow-up to the Samsung BD-P2400 from 2007. The new player adds 7.1 analog outputs, and the popular Silicon Optix HQV video processor. The included Ethernet port allows this player, along with the October release of the Samsung BD-P2500, to stream Netflix movies over the Web. Like almost all Blu-ray players, this will upconvert standard DVDs to 1080p output over its HDMI port. It also features a USB port for playing media and firmware upgrades.
