ScottP: The #samsung_focus is supposed to be released next Monday. I'm growing concerned since Rogers (in Canada) has been awfully quiet about the release. I'm getting the feeling that they are going to have stock issues. As usual I'm sure AT&T will launch the product without a hitch. Nov 5, 10

Erik: I'm so sick of our lackluster mobile situation in Canada. We're tortured with all these great smart phones being released south of the border, with maybe 10-20% ever released in Canada, and when they do they're always much later.

Why is it this way? Is it because Canadian carriers are spending so much effort in getting exclusives and rebranding phones as their own? Blarg Nov 5, 10

Rory KW: I wonder how much of it is the fault of the Canadian consumer, though; most people I talk to want a Blackberry or an iPhone. Nobody knows what my Galaxy Spica is (actually when I bought it, the sales consultant was perplexed because he didn't know they even sold that phone). And to be fair, the average Canadian consumer doesn't know what Android or WP7 is because these things haven't been readily available in Canada... Sort of a chicken/egg situation, I guess.

It's a really good sign that Bell is posting Galaxy S ads everywhere, though. Nov 5, 10
