Samsung FP-T6374 63" Plasma

At 63 inches on the diagonal, the Samsung FP-T6374 is one of the largest mass produced plasma displays available. When viewing such a large screen the resolution of the picture becomes increasingly important. As a result Samsung has made the 6374 a Full HD 1080p resolution. This set contains advanced picture processing that places it among the higher-end of the Plasma screens putting it into competition with the class-leading Pioneer sets.

Details

Some of the advanced specifications that Samsung is advertising is their 18-bit processing engine through an HDMI 1.3 connection with a 15000:1 contrast ratio. Samsung has also included their new Ultra FilterBright technology which they claim reduces glare and other problems that occur while watching television in a well lit room. The TV also contains a new auto-pixel-shifting technology that is claimed to eliminate the worry of burn-in on prolonged stationary images.

Some sources claim that the set can take a 1080p image from VGA, HDMI and the Component input. It is not currently known if the set handles 1080p at 24Hz. Energy Star compliance ensures the television does not take an excessive amount of power to operate.

Inputs

  • HDMI 1.3 x 3
  • Component x 2
  • VGA x 1
  • S-Video x 3
  • Composite x 1

Consider the Sharp Aquos LC-65D93U 65" LCD as an alternative to this 63" plasma.
