The Samsung G2 Portable is a portable, external USB hard-drive disc available in four sizes and four colors (see model variations), and compatible with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Featured on the inside is a 2.5”, 5400rpm SATA-II HDD with 8MB of cache.

On the outside, the G2 hosts a colorful and glittery design, as well as a USB 2.0 interface that supports speeds of 35mb/s sequential read and write. Included also are SilentSeek & NoiseGuard technologies to minimize noise-levels and ensure zero vibration. Plus the G2 features Samsung's Ecogreen technology, which means It’s halogen-free, meets ROHS standards and provides both low noise output and low power consumption. Additional features include SafetyKey for password protection one’s data; SecretZone for data encryption; and automatic backups.
