Produced in association with Pentax, the Samsung GX-20 is essentially the Pentax K20D with some external styling and menu operation changes. At the time of its announcement in January 2008 theGX-20 led the megapixel race among dSLRs, although competitors were quick to release their own 14 megapixel models. ISO settings range from 100-6400, with reviewers describing all settings below 800 as delivering very little image noise, and even ISO 6400 as "noisy but usable" (source). The LCD screen offers a digital live-view, allowing for framing of photos without using the pentaprism viewfinder. According to reviews, the file write time for the GX-20 is a noticeable improvement over its predecessor, the GX-10, and this change speeds up the shot-to-shot performance of the camera.
