Introduced at CES 2007, the 76 series of digital projection televisions from Samsung are their slimmest designs yet. Using a wide angle lens, the television comes in at a thickness of 12.3 inches, with a very small outside bezel. Samsung claims this DLP is thin enough to be mounted on a wall or stored in a book shelf unit, as opposed to a special stand that DLPs usually require. A more expensive 87 series is available that comes in a thicker case, but uses a more advanced LED projection system.

Details
As is the case with most modern televisions in this price range, the native resolution is a Full HD 1080p with support for 24Hz playback meaning there is no conversion when playing content from Blu-Ray and HD-DVD media. DLPs are known for their contrast ratio and the 76 series is no different with a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. Samsung is also making these televisions 3D capable, meaning special 3D content will "pop" from the screen, though a $100 add-on kit needs to be purchased that includes the 3D glasses.
