Samsung HT-BD8200

The Samsung HT-BD8200 is a 2.1 (two speakers plus subwoofer) home theater system announced at CES 2009 in Las Vegas. This 300-watt wall-mountable sound bar includes the front speakers and a wireless subwoofer only, as it relies on simulated surround sound to achieve a 5.1 effect. This system includes an integrated Blu-ray Disc player and supports Netflix internet movie streaming and Pandora's free Internet music service. This system is similar to Samsung’s 2008 DVD-based sound bar, the HT-X810T. 2009’s HT-BD7200 includes support for Blu-ray profile 2.0, meaning full compatibility with the latest Blu-ray movie features like BD-Live and lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio sound. This home theater system also includes an iPod dock, and the ability to stream from compatible Bluetooth devices, such as mobile phones containing audio files. Users will have to invest in an 802.11n Wi-Fi dongle for wireless internet support. Expect to see Samsung’s home theater sound bar in the first half of 2009.
