The Samsung HZ10W is a high-end compact digital camera; it was first announced at the 2009 CES event in Las Vegas. The biggest features of the HZ10W include a 10x optical zoom for both photos and videos, a 10.2 megapixel photo output resolution, and an ultra wide-angle 24mm Schneider lens. The HZ10W also includes a large high-res 2.7" (230,000 pixel) LCD screen which displays saved photos and videos at crystal clear resolutions. Thanks to the high quality lens the HZ10W can also capture 720p high-definition videos at 30 frames per second; the videos are then compressed in the H.264 format which means longer recording times for videos stored on SD and SDHC cards (the H.264 format takes up less space due to its compression size). Samsung claims the HZ10W will be available sometime in January, 2009 and has an estimated retail price of $299.99
