Like its lower-resolution sibling the NV30, the Samsung NV40 is a mid-range compact digital camera that offers a users their choice of point-and-shoot simplicity or more sophisticated image control than many of its competitors. Simple snapshots can be optimized using one of 14 included scene modes, with additional adjustments via contrast, sharpness, white balance, saturation, color effect and photo style settings. If you prefer total control, you can also set aperture and shutter speed using the manual mode. Dual image stabilization, face detection and a snapshot mode (designed to optimize focus and flash exposure for the average distance of a camera held at arm's length) help ensure your subject is in focus and properly exposed. The NV40 also offers a movie and macro mode for further versatility. The metal body is available in black or silver.
