The Series 6 Plasmas from Samsung is the step below the flagship line of plasma televisions and feature a native 1080p resolution. To distinguish this series from the less expensive - and comparable - Series 5 Plasmas Samsung used their unique "touch of color" design which adds a a red-tinted highlight to the exterior of the unit. Other differences included better internal processing, a more advanced anti-glare filter, a fourth HDMI input, and an ethernet port to read and display RSS feeds. The step above the Series 6 is the Series 7 which features the same basic specifications, and beefs up the connectivity options with digital media streaming through the USB Port (Wiselink Pro) and DLNA certification.

DNIe Pro - the 5 Series uses the less advanced DNIe+ technology used to process and improve the picture that is displayed.

Ultra Filter Bright - Plasmas can suffer from ambient reflections and glare in well-lit rooms, to deal with this problem plasma manufacturers use different filters to reduce these ambient distractions. Samsung's less expensive plasmas use the Filter Bright technology, while these 6 Series plasmas use the Ultra Filter Bright which Samsung claims will reduce glares and enhance the picture.
