The Samsung SC-DX205 is a miniDV camcorder that retails at $200 and was released in 2009. It has a 34x optical zoom which is pretty good for this price range. It has a 680K pixel CCD and a 720x480 pixel resolution, as well as a digital image stabilizer. For these set of features one can't help but conclude that Samsung beats its competitors when it comes to value for money: The cheapest entry level miniDV offered by canon is the Canon ZR900 which retails at $250, and the cheapest one offered by Panasonic is the Panasonic PV-GS90, retailing at $280.
