Samsung SL605

$130.00 Released May, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Housing feels solid with no flex when gripped. Low light pictures with flash look good, no noticeable grain. Daytime photos are crisp and very clear.

The Cons:Flash is placed where your hand would naturally go, easy to accidentally block it. Screen interface works a little slowly. Changing modes manually requires an in-depth search through the menus.

The Samsung SL605 is a compact, scratchproof digital camera designed to endure lots of aboveground abuse. It’s not as durable as the waterproof AQ100 (released around the same time), plus it too features a 2.7” LCD display, a 5x optical zoom lens, and point-and-shot operating with Smart Auto Mode.

The big difference, however, is that the SL605 is restricted to 640x480p video at 30fps, although it does support audio with M-JPEG codec. Plus the SL605 is available in different colors, including black, blue, red, and silver. Additional features include face/smile/blink detection; a Li-Ion rechargeable battery; and a Smart Night Mode.
