Samsung TL205
$149.99
Released March, 2010
The Pros:Shutter releases quickly after the button is pushed, catches the action. Built very light, easy to carry around. Menus are well designed, offer quick access to most frequently needed features.
The Cons:Buttons have embossed labels, rather than printed, and match the case - very hard to read. Need to hold the camera still after shutter release in most cases for a clear picture - no optical image stabilization. Can't handle close-up pictures, will not focus properly.
The Samsung TL205 is one of two entry-level DualView shooters announced in 2010 as an improvement over the TL220 and TL225. Unlike its predecessors, the new cameras allow users to compose videos AND stills on both the front and main LCD screens.

The TL205, the lower of the two, features a 12MP resolution, a 3X optical zoom, a 1.5" front screen, a 2.7" main screen, and digital image stabilization. Some of the more touted features include a Couple Shot that snaps a photo when two people tilt their heads together; a Child Mode that plays musical tunes with cartoon animations to attract babies; and Smart Auto 2.0 Technology, which automatically adjusts settings based on shooting conditions. Unfortunately, the TL205 is restricted to standard-definition (640x480) video clips.
