The Samsung YP-R1 is a portable multimedia player released in late 2009. It offers a 2.6" display that is also a touchscreen. The TouchWiz user interface comes with 'drag and drop' operations to make the multimedia player intuitive and easy to use. One fun addition to the Samsung YP-R1 is the "Beat DJ" feature which lets consumers add their own sound effects and voice to their favorite songs, in effect letting them 'scratch' records on the touchscreen. The multimedia player comes with a choice of 8GB or 16GB, neither very large in comparison to other players on the market. One of the appeals of the Samsung YP-R1 isn't its size or ability to hold a massive selection of songs and videos, it is the 8.9mm thickness and the 50g weight.
