Why do all MP3 players now look like iPods?

It's the standard. Just like how most video game controllers look the same, or televisions look the same, etc. If one design is SUPER successful over all others, then that's what people will just copy. Why reinvent the wheel and such?

I think they all look like the winamp players that preceded them on PCs. I've waited a long time for the price of these players to come down, since I'm very hard on my equipment. I've trashed the sony sportmans player, and if you ever had one of those, you know how hard that is. I bought a refurbished e130 for $25 & love it. It lacks bells & whistles, but provides basic playback & uses 2 gig cards( doesn't seem to be compatible w/ SDHC. I also have the 1st gen chocolate phone which I purchased a few years ago when they 1st came out. It's ok, but has it's drawbacks( the interface sucks, the adapter is crap, whoever designed the touch sensitive buttons should severely beaten).
