The Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA8 is a fully waterproof compact budget standard definition camcorder. Shooting at 640x480 the VPC-CA8 outputs AVC/H.264 MPEG-4 to its 44MB internal memory or loaded SDHC card (a 1GB card can contain up to 1 hour and 20 minutes of footage). The VPC-CA8 really shines with images, as the camera sports a 8MP CMOS sensor and 8 resolution settings. While a considerably advanced SD camcorder, the pitiful 44MB onboard flash and a lack of included SDHC card seems spartan, even when standard footage takes up much less room than high definition content. A slightly cheaper version, the Xacti VPC-CA65 includes less internal memory and a 6MP CCD.

I bought it in Japan. Bad idea! all the menus are in Japanese and so is the manual. I had in the past bought a Minolta in Japan and could easily select different languages in the settings as well as find an English manual on the internet for it. SANYO don't seem to have quite caught up with this level of custumer care or am I wrong? If anyone could please give me a link to a English manual I would very much appreciate. Price-wise it was about the same as if bought on the internet. it also came with a very nice software called Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 (all in English as well as other languages). But unfortunately, I am running Window 2000 pro and my PC runs a AMD athlon Processor 1100Mhz that does not seem to have CPUs that support SSE2 blah... blah... to cut short I can't do a thing with it. I can view the photos on my PC screen but I only get the sound of the movies through "Real Player". So all my movies remain locked in the camera to date.
Any suggestions?
