The Sanyo XACTI VPC-HD800 is an updated model of the XACTI VPC-HD line of high-definition digital camcorders. It features a 2.7-inch LCD display, 5x optical zoom, three-dimension digital noise reduction filter (3DDNR) as well as Sanyo's Face Chaser technology (which detects up to twelve faces within an image). The VPC-HD800 captures HD images for both video (1280x720, 720p, AVC/H.264 codec format) and stills (8.0-megapixel) and can save data onto SD and SDHC (up to 32GB) memory cards as well as transfer media to HDD or internet. The camcorder is available in black, pink, gold colours and comes bundled with a lithium-ion battery and AC adaptor, weighing approximately 220g with battery and SD card attached. Battery life allows approximately 55 minutes of continuous filming, 200 minutes of playback or roughly 250 still shots.
