"An LCD TV must first provide the best picture possible at all resolutions before even considering convenience features. That said, Sharp has sustained a reputation for decoding all video formats well from 480i NTSC analog TV through to 1080p. It does not have the best remote ergonomics or built-in sound system, but its more than competition for other TVs given its consistent performance with image output than can vary from its competitors. It has suffered with a LCD 'banding' issue in some prior models and this can be held against them, but so far, the SE94U series has not suffered such a disease."
