SAW (video game)

Saw is a third-person survival horror game developed by Zombie Studios for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 console platforms. A downloadable Windows PC version is also available. As a game based on a popular movie franchise, one can expect this title to feature many of the same haunting scenarios along with the series' main protagonist, Jigsaw. The game fits in to the movie timeline, falling somewhere between the first and second films. The plot involves Detective David Trapp from the same set of movies, who wakes up in an abandoned asylum at the mercy of Jigsaw's elaborate traps. Game reviewers have commonly asserted that the game has good atmosphere and stays faithful to the series, but lacks any real originality when it comes to the survival horror genre. Saw was released on October 6th 2009 and received an M (mature, 17+) rating by the ESRB.
