The Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31000340AS is a 1 TB hard drive with a SATA 3 Gb/s NCQ drive interface supporting sustained transfer speeds up to 105 MB/s. It is made with Seagate's second generation perpendicular recording technology for fast, reliable hard drive access. Perpendicular recording allows for more data to be stored in a smaller physical area on the disk. It has a large 32 MB cache. The 7200.11 is next-generation model of Seagate Barracuda drives superceding the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10.

Hard to complain about a TB of space from a drive with good performance... and at more then 2gb/dollar its not really that expensive considering its cutting edge size.

My issue is with backing up. EVERY hard drive fails, so how the heck are you going to keep 1TB of data safe? Personally, I hope the need for ridiculous drives like this goes down. Let some central server deal with the data management, and let me just stream what I want, when I want it.
