The larger desktop equivilent to the Seagate FreeAgent GO, the Seagate FreeAgent Desk is a large external drive for transporting massive amounts of data or storage of media and/or crucial data. Featuring the same brushed metal wedge-like appearance, light activity display and backup/encryption software, the FreeAgent Desk uses faster, hotter, larger and more power hungry desktop drives that can store more data than their 2.5" laptop drive equivalents. Thus, with capacities ranging from 500GB to 1.5TB, the DeskDrive also requires an external power source besides the USB2.0 connection to power itself. A version is also available for Apple Mac users, with an Apple Time Machine ready format and the addition of two firewire ports (400 and 800).
