The Sennheiser HD 201 are a set of entry level dynamic headphones aimed at the budget-minded music listener/dj. Lightweight construction and strong bass response are two key features of the HD 201 as is the swivel-designed earcups. Closed circum-aural design means the headphones surround the ear completely, as well as keeping sound in and ambient noise out. Hypo-allergenic leatherette ear pads are offered for comfortable extended usage and a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter is included. What separates the Sennheiser HD 201 form the more expensive HD 205 is the fact that the earcups do not rotate for one-ear listening but rather swivel like normal headphones. Also the most important difference between these and not only the HD 205 but more expensive headphones in general are the Frequency Response(higher = more expensive) and Total Harmonic Distortion(THD, lower = more expensive). Although these headphones have been regarded as having an extra deep bass response, it doesn't reflect in the Frequency Response quoted by the manufacturer.
