First introduced at CES in January of 2008, the latest lineup of high end, dynamically driven earphones from Sennheiser consists of the IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8. Released later in April, the IE 8 is currently Sennheiser's top-of-the-line in-ear offering. With the same isolation (up to 26dB) as the two lower models, the IE 8 features a superior 10 - 20,000Hz frequency response and is the only IEM in the world to offer frequency response tuning - allowing users to tweak the sound signature and attain their perfect balance between fun and exciting bass, full and emotionally moving mids, or ultra detailed high frequencies. Utilizing the same Kevlar coated cables and highly durable materials and construction, the IE 8 also allows users to replace their cables - a feature generally reserved for higher end IEMs. Packaged with a cleaning tool, transport case and a cable clip, the IE 8 comes with a respectable limited 2 year warranty.

Pros
- same internal system as what was once considered the undisputed best IEM in the world

- not as comfortable or as isolating as a custom fitted IEM (such as the much more expensive UE-10, or a similarly priced Freq)
