The D74U Series of line of 2008 LCD televisions offer a 1080p native resolution and an ethernet port for accessing content and support directly from the Net. These sets bridge the grap between the lower end D64U series and the flagship SE94U series. Compared with the SE94s, 74U are missing the 10-bit panel and 120Hz display mode, instead they incorporate Aquos Net capability, and cabinet design from the SE94 series and boost up the contrast ratio over the 64Us.

AQUOS Net - through the included ethernet port these sets can be connected directly to the Internet which adds two main features. The first is the ability to view content from the Internet, such as videos, and widgets providing weather and news information. Connecting to the Net gives access to the AQUOS Support Net which lets you Sharp offer customer support such as diagnosing problems and calibrating your television.
Panels - Sharp, along with Samsung are one of the only manufacturers to make their own panels. Sharp's panels are known for producing duller colors than the Samsung, but offer better viewing angles with little discoloration.

The naming convention of the AQUOS D74U series is: Sharp AQUOS LC-xxD74U where xx refers to the size of the model.
