The AQUOS D85U Series from Sharp is their Fall 2008 line that brings the premium features of 120Hz and motion compensation technology into a more budget friendly price. The premium features indicate the D85Us are an upgrade to their D74U counterparts, however not all the specs have seen a boost as the dynamic contrast ratio on the 74U Series is a higher 17,000:1 compared to the D85Us 10,000:1. Similar to the D65U Series which is the other AQUOS line of TVs released in Fall 2008, the D85s are Energy Star Certified with an optional "Power Save Mode" that reduces screen brightness and contrast to reduce power consumption.
