Pros

  • Good sound quality for the price.
  • Discrete amplifier design plays loud and clear.
  • Has tone direct function for pure sound reproduction.
  • Good build quality for an entry level product. (Known one to have been dropped and still works perfectly)
  • Above average FM tuner.

Cons

  • No direct station tuning available.
  • No binding post speaker terminals (the RX-4109 which replaced it does though).
  • No tape monitor loop or Preout/Main-in for use of an EQ.
