Shimano Solstace 4000 FI

$39.99 Released October, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Very good reel for the price. Very smooth, consistent performance. Casts much further than standard built-in reels.

The Cons:Fairly heavy at about 12.5 oz.

The Shimano Solstace 4000 FI is a low-cost spinning reel, approved for use in saltwater. The aluminum cold-forged spool of this reel provides durability and strength, especially when compared to a regular aluminum or graphite spool.

Product Shot 2 The Dyna-Balance feature of the Solstace 4000 FI eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. The Super Stopper II feature of this reel uses a one-way bearing to eliminate backplay, so that you are not constantly having to untangle your line. The Solstace 4000 FI was created with Shimano's S Concept, which emphasizes smooth rotation, silent operation and solid construction. This model differs from the closely related Solstace 2500 FI in that it has a higher line capacity and power pro line capacity, twenty pounds of maximum drag (as opposed to the Solstace 2500 FI's fifteen pounds of maximum drag), a lower gear ratio (5.7:1 as opposed to the Solstace 2500 FI's 6.2:1 ratio), and weighs more (12.5oz. as opposed to 9.4oz.). The Shimano Solstace 4000 FI spinning reel is equipped with rubber handle grips.
